Learn key concepts and terms that will help you understand how to read and interpret an earnings statement. 

It’s not enough to be an expert on your role. You also need to understand what makes your industry “tick.” This means developing financial fluency and using finance to understand the health and trajectory of your organization. 

The best way to take a quick evaluation of your company’s health (and to find out where new opportunities lie) is to get in the habit of tuning into the quarterly earnings reports. 

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to ask and answer these questions:

- How is your business faring within your larger organization?

- What pieces of business are thriving (where is there opportunity?) and what pieces of business are stagnating or losing revenue?

- Does your company have enough assets to carry them through in this hard time, or should you anticipate budget cuts?

Because many members at The Forem come from Google & Verizon, two large public companies, we will look at Verizon and Alphabet’s statements and compare the businesses against each other.
