Dear Families,
We are ecstatic to bring back BDS STRANDS to our community! As part of our 7th grade Relational Health course we had SafeBAE visit 7th grade to speak about consent, healthy boundaries, and safe relationships. SafeBAE is the only survivor-founded, student-led national organization working to prevent sexual violence exclusively among middle and high school students in the US.
SafeBae will join us this April 1st to engage in conversation with families in hopes of exploring research backed approaches in discussing sexual harassment and assault prevention, affirmative consent, safe bystander intervention, survivor care, and Title IX education with students.
We invite families of all grade levels to join us for this important event! It is never too early to discuss these topics with your student(s) in age appropriate ways. We will begin with a presentation by SafeBAE and follow with a live Q+A to follow.
Not able to join in person? The presentation will be recorded and available to view for a limited time following the event! Note: The Q+A portion will not be videoed
If you have any questions please reach out to Trinity Johns (Assistant Director of DEIB) at tjohns@belmontday.org. We look forward to seeing you there!
